Hi there does not seem to be a Skrooge section in the forum unfortunately. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Question about this brilliant accounting program: Is it possible to customize the 'Monthly Report'? As my monthly report includes some unwanted accounts. Documentation is good, but so far have not been able to customize my own custom (not monthly) reports same as I used to have in Quicken, however, I think this is finger trouble (eg my own fault). *see below: it was finger trouble. As an aside I have found what might be a wee bug in version .9 in that when I 'Save Page State' the page state is not recalled next session, unless I save the page state, then manually File/Save As (can be same filename). I have autosave on close, but the page state is not saved unless I use File/Save As. BTW This is THE ONLY package that imports Quicken files and behaves near enough to Quicken as to be a superior product since it works with KDE/Gnome so well. Hope I can find others here who can help each other use this neat software. Kind regards, Alistair. |

*How to do above reports:
1..Set up your desired accounts eg if you have other accounts you dont want in report go to banks and accounts page and tick the [x] on unwanted bank account. 2..In left (Pages) dock, click on Reports and set up desired report (there are hints within the documentation, and its pretty straight forward). EG for my most used report, I select Account for lines, Category for Column, Sum for Mode, and Custom for Date, with checkboxes income/expense as desired. The report will be created dynamically according to your reports settings. To save the report: View/Docks/Bookmarks then right click in bookmarks and bookmark current page. Now all I have to do is to figure how to get the desired report to print properly as there does not seem to be any print formatting. |

No, for the moment, the monthly report is not customizable. We would like to do it by using a template mechanism like "Grantlee". We are thinking about this but the ideas are not very clean so this is not yet ongoing.
In fact, the document is not so good. We have to work on it.
I am not able to reproduce this issue. Could you help me by answering the following questions ? Q1-Do you have this issue on all pages? Q2-When you click on "Save Page State", is the save icon all the document is enabled ?
Thank you for these nice words. |

Q1-Do you have this issue on all pages? Q2-When you click on "Save Page State", is the save icon all the document is enabled ? Hi Save Page State is now working properly. After save page state save (file) icon is still enabled, but assume autosave on close is working now. It may have been a Ubuntu files permissions issue. Kind regards, Alistair. |

Perhaps you meant the Save icon on the tab - this changes to disabled after Save Page State.

With the buttons issue, it turned out to be that under Linux the buttons states are not shown clearly, hence it can be confusing. Note that the active state of a button in Linux might be greyed, without checkbox. Once you see the state then it is clear that the 'checked' state allows viewing of shown, hidden and both shown and hidden accounts.
Hope this helps! |
