Installed Skrooge thru Kubuntu today and am very frustrated trying to import my Quicken Home & Business 2010 files. I've tried both QDF and QIF file formats and no matter what I do I receive the same error:
[ERR-1]: This import mode is not yet implemented Can anyone tell me what this means? And how to proceed? Thanks, T Hessler |

I've also seen this error when trying to import KMyMoney data, that is .kmy files. http://skrooge.org/features seems to suggest that the import of these files is supported, the error message suggests otherwise.

Thanks Paul,
Were you able to resolve it or are you not using Skrooge? I'm really frustrated as I've tried GNUCash, Skrooge and KMyMoney today and none will import my accounts. I wanted to make this switch to Linux clean but it now looks like I may have to go the VirtualBox route and install Windows as well so I can run a few critical software packages (like Quicken) that I haven't found workable Linux replacements for. |

Hi,
I am the main developer of Skrooge. In Skrooge, imports are manager by plugins, if you have this error it means that: -The extension of the file is not know. qif is supported. or -The distribution package is not well done. What is your distribution? |

No, I'm still using KMyMoney. After manually transferring a lot of data from MS Money to KMyMoney, there was no way I was going to input everything manually again. |

I'm not sure what you mean exactly. I installed thru Kubuntu's software manager (Muon Software Center). I'm running the new version of Kubuntu 11.04 and Skrooge Version 0.9.92 Using KDE Development Platform 4.7.1 (4.7.1) Fortunately I still have 1 laptop running Windows while converting 3 to Linux, so I was able to export QIF files - otherwise I would have been limited to apps that accept Quicken's proprietary format. But after exporting each account separately from Quicken, none of them will import into Skrooge. Any suggestions? |

Could you install the 1.0.0 version from my ppa? http://skrooge.org/ubuntu_installation |

Successful import here! Hopefully thessler will be successful too. Using Kubuntu 11.10, I now have lots of data to play with! Thanks. [Edit: Sorry, I had to submit a bug report: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=284414] |

I followed the instructions from your link and something is wrong because:
1. When I go to Applications to start Skrooge, it's no longer in my "Office" list or any other list and I've used the search function as well. 2. When I go to Software Center, Skrooge appears in the list of installed apps with the new version! How do I start the app? Here's the terminal window data
I'm sorry for all this trouble, I'm new to Linux and it's been about 20 years since I've programmed in DOS! Windows has dumbed me down. |

This is strange! Try again. This is may be due to a download issue.

@sonictemple - what does your issue have to do with Skrooge? what does it have to do with KDE?
you have a Kubuntu specific problem, you'd best be served posting on their forum you probably need to add the --force-overwrite option but I don't do deb and you should also try to find out why you're receiving these errors |
