Can't import Gnucash data

Sun Jan 15, 2012 6:50 am
Hi,

I've just installed Skrooge (1.2.0) on Ubuntu 11.10 (running the Unity interface) and tried to import data exported from Gnucash (2.4.2).

The import process completes quickly and reports no errors. However, none of my accounts is imported into Skrooge.

I can pm the Gnucash export file but I'd prefer not to post it on a public forum.

TIA,

Hi,

I am the main developer of Skrooge.

Could you send me your file by email for analysis?

You can find my email address in the about of Skrooge (my name is stephane MANKOWSKI).

Thank you for using Skrooge

Was there ever a resolution to this problem?

I'm having the same issue. I'm brand new to skrooge, and a long-time gnucash user. I'm looking for something better, and skrooge seems nice, but I don't want to lose all of my old data. When I try to import my gnucash data file, skrooge thinks about it very hard for a little bit, and then it ends and seems to silently fail.

Part of the problem is that there is no clear instructions for importing that I have found yet - I don't know if I'm doing the right steps.

What I've done is selected "file->import" and then selected my gnucash file. The progress indicator runs for a bit, reaches 100%, and then I see no change in the displayed data. No transactions, nothing.

what am I doing wrong?

I'd rather not share my personal data file.

kubuntu 13.10, Skrooge 1.7.4Beta

Thanks.

Hi,

You should install the last 1.9.0 stable version for this ppa:
http://skrooge.org/ubuntu_installation

Then tell me if you still have the issue.
