So after a week of trying to use Plasma exculsively on chakra (using packages from the CCR), I've found that it has a bunch of really nice touches, like setting up / switching activities, the way you can add all kinds of things to activities, share like connect, touch navigation etc. Unfortunately there are just a handful of things that are really maddening. Specifically:

1. When not in composited mode and you peek at the open applications, they're shown by their icon, with no name, so it's impossible to tell the difference between 10 different webpages open in different browser instances.

2. No tabs in the browser?! Ok, this is an app, not plasma, but come on! No desktop environment can overlook sane web display in 2013.

3. No ability to put plasmoids in the panel. My system uses pulseAudio with veromix. It doesn't have kmix installed, and so there is no way to change the volume in plasma active that works across activities. In plasma desktop, I just have veromix in the main panel.

4. No easy equivalent of "alt+tab". I wish I could tap a button in the panel to switch to the previous app, but... see point 2. Navigating between apps (especially without compositing, see point 1) is cumbersome and slow.

5. No equivalent of right click (/hold tap in Android) that I could find, making many functions in apps (even active apps) inaccessible.

6. Opening an application from the launcher doesn't actually take you to that application. It seems to open it in the background, and then you need to manually drag down the launcher, find it in the application switcher and click on it.

There was other stuff that I assume is just bugs, and thus for the bug tracker, such as the menu displaying *behind* the current app, when compositing is turned on, the browser dragging the window when you try to select text, no buttons to close apps when you drag the panel down, Maliit never appearing (despite having the packages installed) etc.

Despite all these issues, I love the direction Plasma Active is taking and the work you've done on it so far. If I criticize, it's only in the hopes that I can help make it better and void the warranty on a new nexus 7 this christmas, enjoying PA on it wherever I go. Merry Christmas all devs and have a great new year!
