I have run Plasma Active Four succesfully live on a MobiOne 64G/2G Pegatron with WetabOS with no problems. I have now installed Plasma Active Four on this machine and have several problems (basyskom-plasma-active-four-wetab-exopc-tablet-mer-release.iso). One of these is the impossibility to connect to internet either with WiFi or GSM. I receive the following error message :

Error adding connection : Error checking authoristion:GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1.Error.Failed:
Action
org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.settings.modify.own is not registered

ONE
I cannot find "<action id="org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.settings.modify.system"> in
# /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.policy
Is this correct seeing the error message above ?

TWO
I have tried restarting the networkmanager service, as root:
# systemctl restart NetworkManager.service
This returns :
# Failed to issue service call :Unit name NetworkManager is not valid

THREE
# ps -ef | grep polkit
returns
.../usr/lib/exec/polkit-1/polkitd/ --no-debug
.../usr/lib/kde4/libexec/polkit-kde-authentification-agent-1
which I think looks correct.

FOUR
Should I change <policy context= » default»> values from « deny » to « allow »  in
# /etc/dbus-1/system.d/org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.conf
?

Language is English, I am not using KDE Wallet and I have not had much experience with KDE.
Any help would be most welcome.

Are there any other NetworkManager packages (or ModemManager ones) which are not installed on your system?

In regards to your login problems - please send an email to forum-admin@kde.org so we can sort you out there.

Unfortunately i'm not sure if those are the correct counts of ModemManager or NetworkManager files. Based on the error you got previously it might be worth comparing the contents of /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/ between the installation and the live system to see if any differences exist.

Both problems would appear to have been solved – internet connection and automatic mounting of SD/USB.

The command
# ls /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/
showed ten more files in the live version than in the installed version.

The miising files were the first six files shown in the live version list and the last four files shown in the live version list.

The files were :

org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.policy
org.freedesktop.consolekit.policy
org.freedesktop.hostname1.policy
org.freedesktop.locale1.policy
org.freedesktop.login1.policy
org.freedesktop.modem-manager.policy

org.kde.kcontrol.kcmremotewidgets.policy
org.kde.ksysguard.processlisthelper.policy
org.kde.nepomuk.filewatch.policy
org.kde.powerdevil.backlighthelper.policy

I copied these files over to the installed version and the problems seem to be corrected.

Many thanks for your help.

Can you please also report a bug against Plasma Active at bugs.kde.org? The provided live images should correctly install all packages needed for a fully operational system - and it appears that some packages/files are being omitted as part of this process.
