I've been running Plasma Active One & Contour on top of openSUSE on an ExoPC.
What PA Two upgrade alternative gives the best result?

Upgrading is easy, you'll need to remove one repo, add one back and then do a system upgrade.
First, point zypper to the new repo, delete the old one:
Then do a full system ugprade, possibly accepting all "vendor changes" (this means that you are changing the repo for some packages):
After that, restart X or reboot. You might want to remove the config files in your homedirectory under (~/.kde4/share/config), look into /etc/kde4/share/config/ for default config files, as you might not get all updates to your settings if you have configured things differently already.

I decided to install rather than update, using the 12.1 Balsam image noted in the http://community.kde.org/Plasma/Active/Installation installation instructions.
The plasma-active repository is already installed with that image. Short and sweet. Easy installation. External keyboard is essential. |

Are there plans to update the repository in the openSUSE download system? It has already been a few days, and I don't see any changes there.

No, the packages have moved to Balsam Repos, we won't update the repositories on openSUSE OBS.

Ah, I see, good to know. But then shouldn't it be removed from OBS, if it's no longer maintained? The KDE repository is already quite cluttered with unmaintained subrepositories...

The old repository is still valuable, at least for the moment (Jan 2012.) The only way I've gotten Plasma Active Two to install on OpenSUSE 12.1 is to install Plasma Active (One?) from the old repository first --> http://download.opensuse.org/repositori ... nSUSE_12.1 and then follow the upgrade directions above from this topic thread (2nd post) or the Wiki --> http://community.kde.org/Plasma/Active/ ... Active_One
