Hello,

I discovered by chance a youtube video on Plasma Active and it seems very interesting as light UI.

It also seems that Plasma Active can be install on a laptop/netbook
RE: http://community.kde.org/Plasma/Active/ ... 86_Systems
and
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBg7hYUNtBo

Without a touch screen, you'll "only" have to show again the mouse pointer as described in
http://community.kde.org/Plasma/Active/ ... _Cursor.3F

Now my question is.

Is it possible to have a live USB install, just as any other live distro?
If yes, can it be done from Windows (unetbootin or Universal-USB-Installer I haven't seen it in the list of distros).

Other seems as confused as I am, as they want to test an alternative to Android.

Yes, all .iso images listed in the wiki pages are also USB bootable as far as I known. The link above explains how to copy them to a USB flashdrive (or pendrive) using dd command in Linux/Unix.

I do not know, I do not use Windows :-/

We do not own any of those devices, so we cannot test them and write the correct installation procedure yet, sorry. The main problem is how to setup Android's bootloader to boot the .iso images. After that the .iso image must configure the bootloader to boot the partition PA will be installed. Only with a device in hands we can test and figure out how to correctly configure the bootloader.

Good

But I'm still confused with:
Plasma Active is easy to install, but you can also test drive it from a USB stick. There are different images of Plasma Active available: One Mer based image and one MeeGo based, both provided by basysKom and one running on Balsam provided by open-slx. You can find the software and installation instructions on the KDE Wiki.

Finally, which distro should I use ?

I do not know, I do not use Windows

If I know I post the sol.

You can use any of them, you can even try all of them and chose the one you like most.

I have tested only the MeeGo image so far.
