Hello,

I was happy that with my old gwenview I could sort my photos by the date of creation. ("Aufnahmedatum")
Moving to Precise Pangolin and the actual version of gwenview I lost this feature.
How can I recover it?
If you sort by date it is sorted by date of the last change. This ist good for text-documents. But if e.g. you remove red Eyes of some pictures, they will be sorted in a different context. :'(

Thanks!

I don't recall that far back but the std for Linux file systems is 3 date fields - atime, mtime and ctime, none of which is the creation date see http://www.unixtutorial.org/2008/04/ati ... lesystems/

Ext4 and some other filesems (brtfs I think) have a creation field called crtime (at least in ext4) but I don't think std tools access/display it

Gwenview sort by shooting date rather than file date, that is: the date stored by the camera in the image. There is a bug in Gwenview 2.8 (the one which comes with Ubuntu 12.04), which makes it ignore this shooting date. It is solved in Gwenview 2.9.
