Hello,
There's a strange bahavior of Dolphin and/or Gwenview: Dolphin is opened in a folder containing several jpg files. When I clic one of them, it is displayed by Gwenview. So far so good. But when I go up one level, instead of seeing all the thumbnails of the jpg files in that fold, I see only one. Gwenview is pointed to a /tmp/kde-username/gwenviewXXXX/ folder containing a symbolic link to the jpg file I clicked. The expected behavior is to have Gwenview opened directly on the same folder than Dolphin. Why do I have this? And more importantly, how can I correct? I browsed the config options of the software, but found nothing. Thanks a lot ![]()

Are you browsing a remote folder at the time you do this?

Hello,
No, I am on my hard drive. I tested with several JPG file in my home folder, I have the same behavior. Really strange, and quite annoying. |

I have not been able to reproduce this unfortunately.
Does it occur under a new user?

These links are created in these cases:
- Select more than one file in Dolphin - Open Gwenview with the selected files (using, for example, "Open with > Gwenview") This is done this way so that you can select a limited set of images and go through them. It should not happen when you select only one image. Is it happening when selecting one image for you? |

That's an interesting feature. Thanks for the information.
Yes, I just click on one image, not a selection of several. And when I go to the upper level with Gwenview, I see only one image, the one I clicked on (which is actually a link to the real file). I'll test with a new user this evening. |

Hello,
Problem solved! Here's what was the problem: I had 2 entries for Gwenview in my applications menu, one with options " %U -caption "%c" %i", the other one with " %U -caption "%c" %i /home/user/Photos". The second one was used as default launcher. I changed it for the first one, now it works. I found out with the test with a new user. Thanks all for your help ![]() |
