Ok, now that I have found the Gwenview forum, I will post this again -- with a clarification or two.
First, Gwenview is a great viewer, without which I would not like to do. But in the previous version, ESC worked both for "Browse" and for "Leave fullscreen mode". I.e., from Fullscreen, one ESC took you to View and a second one took you into Browse. That was very handy (literally), as you could just let one hand lie on the ESC key and didn't have to move the mouse from wherever it was on the screen up to the browse button. But in 2.0, if you try to define it for the one function, it is removed from the other. Also, you used to be able to use the carriage return key to enter View from Browse or to enter Fullscreen from View. That was also very handy, for the same reasons. There seemed to be no ambiguity. I would like to be able to go on with this also. I note that a double-click still fulfills both functions, so why not RETURN? I consider that any way of avoiding using the mouse is good. It also can be an accessibility feature. |

I think it is a design descision, take because you can now browse directories full screen, so using ESC for both is not adequate. I'm hit by that sometimes too, but in general, I like the fullscreen browsing.

Aha, I had not yet realized you could do full-screen browsing. Yes, that can be quite handy.
Thanks for pointing that out. |
