Hi all.
Is there some plan to support "photo sphere"[0] images? I have just buyed a brand new nexus phone, and toying with these kind of images is pretty cool. Unfortunately it seems to me ATM on the desktop there is no decent 360° viewer, and I can only see stretched images. It would be cool to support these kind of images. Thanks. are there any viewers? Google'ing I did find one Python program
you could try running Android in a virtual machine (Genymotion under VirtualBox) but you'll also need to install Goolge Play which is not currently shipped due to licensing issues |

A google search find me a couple of webapp:
* http://photosphereviewer.net/ * https://github.com/kennydude/photosphere and a python script (I think the same you found) * http://meestuff.blogspot.it/2013/08/goo ... sktop.html these seems to handle the image format, but... is there some hope to see the support for this kind of images integrated into kde apps? Thanks |

I haven't looked into this, but this is certainly a feature which should be added to Gwenview. Are there any specifications available for those images (how they are stored, how is one supposed to display it?)

Those photos are really cool, and it's too bad i can only view them on my phone. (even there, only google 'gallery' can display them, but it's another story).
This is typically the kind of 'mostly technical' feature that linux/kde is used to support well, so i'm optimistic. Especially as the format is open and documented. |
