How to Turn-Off Wrapping through a Directory of Images?

Just upgraded to Fedora 20 / KDE 4.11.4. I have a question about Gwenview.

When Gwenview is navigating through a subdirectory of image files, and reaches the last image in the subdirectory, it now automatically wraps around the list, displaying the first file in the series. Gwinview also displays the temporary on-screen message: "Last document reached, continuing on first document."

I would like to turn-off the wrapping behavior. Is this possible?

In my case, I am using Gwenview to migrate through a large series of scientific charts in real-time as the batch of charts is being created. They all look quite similar, and I would like to stop when I reach the end of the series, rather than wrapping around to re-start the series all over again.

Additionally, I utilize the grayed-out feature of the navigation arrows to let me know when I have reached the end of the series. When I reach the end of the series the images stop advancing. Unfortunately, now Gwenview wraps back to the beginning of the series and I would like to avoid that behavior.

Similarly, I utilize the grayed-out feature of the navigation arrows to let me know when new charts have been created. In my application, the process of generating the images takes quite a bit of time, longer than it takes to view them. When I navigate to the last image in the series, Gwenview's previous behavior was to grey-out the right-arrow navigation control because no additional images were present in the series. When a new image was created in the directory, Gwenview would formerly respond by changing the color of the right-arrow navigation control, changing it from greyed-out back to it's normal color, thereby indicating the presence of a new image. I could then click on the right-arrow to view the new chart. Now that Gwenview automatically wraps back to the beginning of the series, the greying-out of the navigation buttons never happens anymore. :(

Using the stop-at-the-end-of-series and the grey-out-control-button features of Gwenview, I used to be able to keep track of when new images had been deposited into the subdirectory. With the latest version of Gwenview these behaviors, and the information they conveyed, have been lost; Gwenview no-longer stops scrolling at the end of a series of images, and it no longer performs a grey-out of the navigation control when it reaches the end of the series of images -- it just automatically wraps back to the beginning of the series.

Is there any way to change the configuration settings in Gwenview so that it reverts to it's old behavior? The auto-wrap feature is really getting in my way.

Thanks.

Hi,

It is not possible to disable this new behavior.

I originally wanted to get notified when I press Space to go to the next image while I am on the last one. As I could not find a way to get the shortcut key to trigger something when the "go to next" action is disabled, I decided for the wrap-around behavior.

I have been using it for a while, and I don't like it much either. This evening I finally found a way to do what I originally wanted to do. This should fix your problem, since the previous|next buttons will be disabled again when the beginning|end of the list is reached. I plan to get this in for 4.13.
