... and I thought changing from Openshot was going to be easy...
For some reason .svg titles I had previously made using Inkscape and successfully used in Openshot aren't transparent where they ought to be. Matter of fact, no transparency at all. Solid black in the transparent sections. When I looked at some youtube footage people were creating and using Inkscape .svg as titles in Kdenlivewith no such problem. In desperation I exported a couple of titles as .png and loaded them as titles. The only difference was where the .svgs are opaque black where they ought to be transparent the .png are opaque white. Tested the "non-transparent in Kdenlive .pngs" in Openshot and Gimp and, yep, transparent where they ought to be.
Any suggestions?

(oops 10 minutes later)
Just found that transition called Affine which for some reason controls a strange mix of things and yields transparency where it needs be.

Sigh. So much to learn, so little time....
