mimeinfo.cache issue

Tue Mar 17, 2015 7:51 pm
Not sure if this issue is due to gwenview programming or to the specific distro I use.

I use peppermint 5. Love gwenview for easy managing/resizing/cropping/viewing images whenever that is needed. BUT When I have gwenview installed, it puts itself before the file browser in the line starting with "inode/directory=" in the file /usr/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache. The effect is that when I choose "Open containing folder" in primarily firefox, the folder opens up in gwenview. Can't have that, and i'm tired of changing that file every frickin' day so now I'm using some other **** image viewer. :-\

Just thought that I should let you know...

Interesting. I was wondering about that.

Is this possibly a source of why my firefox REFUSES to forward any magnet links (and some other links) with assigned applications? Because that is one thing that is slowly driving me NUTS... well nuttier...

For me the magnet link forwarding is working fine both with and without gwenview installed
