Hi,
I am using a photo collection on SSHFS, which is very slow even on broadband connections. I know that JPEGs contain a lot of metadata, including thumbnails and stuff. Does someone have a good idea how I can optimise my JPEG files, without touching the original image data, so Gwenview (and probably others) do not have to laod the entire file when they are in preview/thumbnail mode? Or will they always load the entire file? Cheers, Nik |

You can use this to edit multiple images at once: http://www.xnview.com/en/xnconvert/ . It has options such as compressing and resizing them, and only will remove the metadata if you choose to.
