Hello,
Since the upgrade to xenial, when I open a picture from Gwenview, the picture open but with more error windows with the following message. The URL can not be listed audiocd: / device = / dev / sr0? I close the error windows and then I can continue to view the images without problems. When I start gwenview in konsole, I get this warning (three times):
I do not understand what phonon has to do with gwenview. Thank you for any suggestions leading to the elimination of error windows. Pierre |

Gwenview can be used to view videos by way of Phonon, this is not a new functionality
question does Kaffeine and/or Dragon Player play videos ok? |

kafeine not installed. And DragonPlayer plays videos correctly.

I would guess a packaging issue
try: - reinstalling - switching Phonon backends |

I have removed gwenview, clean the cache (package) and reinstalled gwenview. The problem is still present.
For phonon, how to change the backend? |

There are 2 available Phonon backends, Gstreamer and VLC though you may only have one installed
systemsettings -> Multimedia -> Audio and Video -> Backend I looked at the Gwenview rc files and see nothing related to video or Phonon |

I have only one engine (gstreamer). But I would be surprised that a problem with the backend choice. Otherwise, several other KDE users would have already complained.
Here is the complete message received in konsole when I start an argument with gwenview image. The first lines about icons are also present when I start dolphin in konsole mode. The two lines "WARNING: ..." correspond to popup windows error message. I noticed that closing the error window, the gwenview tree (right of the screen window) was changed. This is a further indication.

It may not be the backend but when there's an issue no one else is reporting then you try difference things hoping something helps.
If you open a jpg in Dolphin into Gwenview does the error appear? Does a new user experience it? |

Yes, that is my usual way to open an image. In the list of applications on "open with" image opens normally without error. Only with gwenview I get errors when opening an image. By performing manipulations in gwenview, I realized that the error occurs whenever I click once on a folder in the tree. Once visited folder, the error no longer occurs if I return to the directory.

no idea as I've never seen or heard of this all I can suggest to try all possibilities to try and focus in on a possible cause.
if you open the file from within Gwenview? or as another user? do non jpg files (png, gif, tif) do same ? try reinstall the gstreamer packages again see what happens if you change backends |

Ok. It's really weird. In my setup, I see that Kubuntu use Phono GStreamer (4.8.2). But I have no package named GStreamer or gstreamer. I use the command "dpkg-query -l gstreamer" to query the list of installed packages. Similarly, there is no GStreamer package (or gstreamer) in deposits. So how to remove and reinstall gstreamer?
I should also say that in selecting the tab "News" or "Actions", gwenview opens without error. The error therefore only occurs when the application opens with the "Directory" tab. |

what's the tab "News" or "Actions" ? try in Dolphin right click a folder -> open with -> other -> and entering gwenview |
