I am pretty shure that gwenview in earlier versions did remember the last target folder of a copy-task (F7) respectively move-task(F8).

After loading fotos from a camera to a folder named "new fotos" I use to divide out the new pictures into different folders.
If gwenview would be able to remember the last used target folder, there would be fewer clicks necessary.

I am not able to change the behaviour of gwenview as I would like.

I would be glad if this feature could be implemented.
Thank you in advance.

According to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362474, this problem should have been fixed since Gwenview version 17.08.1, and since 17.12.0 the last used path should even be remembered after a restart of Gwenview.

With the latest version (18.04.1) it still works fine for me, so I guess you are using a quite old version of Gwenview?

Also note that since version 18.04.0 Gwenview will not remember the path anymore if you disabled the history in "Settings → Configure → Advanced → History".

BTW, there's also Gwenview's importer, a dedicated tool to help with moving images from your camera to your computer. You can call it with "gwenview_importer <folder>" or by clicking on the corresponding option in the device notifier's entry of your camera.

I am using gwenview 17.04.2 under openSuse 42.3. This is the last stable version that is provided from the suse repositories.

Today I installed gwenview 18.04.1 using the 1-click installation procedure of the opensuse website: https://software.opensuse.org/ymp/KDE:A ... =gwenview5. The installation finished without problems but after reboot my graphical desktop Plasma 5 crashed completely. I was not able to enter the desktop environment.

I decided to restore my system from my backup. >:D

That are my experiences with gwenview 18.04.1

Yeah, due to how dependencies in KDE:Applications are set up, this will install Qt 5.11 and the newest KDE Frameworks, which seems to cause some problems for you. I'd suggest to ask in the openSUSE forums about it, or simply upgrade to Leap 15.0.

Gwenview itself works fine with Qt 5.6 and KF 5.32 on openSUSE 42.3 (I tried it), but you have to compile from source, of course. Let me know if you want to go that route and need help with that, it's not all that complicated.

I tried upgrading to Suse 15.0 and the result was that the X-server did not start. I had to restore my system back to Suse 42.3 :-\
Now I'll wait a few weeks and hope that by that time most of the bugs have been eliminated.
