Hi. I’m using Gimp 2.10.8 on Debian Buster. I can’t open xcf files with Gwenview 18.04.0. I get this error message: “Loading image failed”. I installed Gimp from the repositories and I also tried installing Gimp with flatpak with the same result.

My guess is that the new xcf format of Gimp is too new for gwenview, right? Or is it a bug?

Interestingly, when I use an old xcf file, I can edit it with the new Gimp and I can open it with Gwenview. It seems I’ve found a workaround.
