is there a possibility to change the cache directory of the thumbnails from /home/user/.thumbnails/* to a special partition?
Where would you specify the new cache path that gwenview should use?

Maybe you could just make that directory the mount point of your desired partition, or bind mount it, or symlink it to your partition.
