I was impatient to test new rating/tagging/filtering features of Gwenview with KDE 4.2.0.
Features described on Gwenview blog, here and here.

Unfortunately these features seem not available in my distro's KDE 4.2 packages. There is a cmake option GWENVIEW_SEMANTICINFO_BACKEND=Nepomuk but this option is the default one in KDE 4.2 branch, and I checked in Kubuntu's package and they did not modify the cmakelists.txt file.
I have Nepomuk activated.

Any idea why features are not present ? Is it the same for you ?

Try checking for processes named "nepomukserver" in System Monitor. If you do not have them, try logging out and in again.

I have nepomukserver running, and yet no nepomuk support in Gwenview

Also, the rating and tagging in Dolphin works but the tags are not stored when I come back later...

My mistake !

My gwenview was actually the old version, the package had not been updated as the update required the removal of other packages (kphotoalbum...).
I upgraded it and I have the semantic information now in Gwenview.

I still have a problem with Nepomuk: metadata are lost from time to time. But it is another problem, I can set this thread as solved.

Hi, I got the same problem here. When I do ps -Af|grep nepo, it will only shows

In Dolphin the Rating, Comment and Tags are even greyed out. What have I done wrong?

My Gwenview Version is 2.3.2 and KDE 4.3.2 on ubuntu 9.10 with kubuntu-desktop installed.
