Hello.
I'm running Kubuntu 8.10 amd_64. When I installed Gwenview 2.2.0 it un-installed the Kipi-plugins and digiKam. When went to re-install them the package manager said it would un-install Gwenview and libkipi6. Without the Kipi-plugins, Gwenview is near worthless for my purposes. Is there anyway to re-install the Kipi-plugins, and digiKam, and get Gwenview to use the plugins? Thank you.

I think this is a distro related issue. You are more likely to get a proper response over at the Kubuntu forums. That being said, there are some Kubuntu devs around here, so you might be lucky

As xinix pointed out, it seems a distro related problem.

Not really a problem actually. Gwenview in KDE 4.2.0 depends on an updated version of libexiv that is incompatible with the old version the KDE3 kipi-plugins need.
If you add this repository you will be able to install the kde4 version of kipi-plugins and digikam, which will stop them from being removed:

Hello, My name is Johanneke and I have a question about a problem I can't seem to solve. When I put the code into my repository and do an update I get the following message; "GPG error: http://ppa.launchpad.net intrepid Release: The following signaturescouldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 0BF0F083E353B3E9 W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems" I know that I have to import the key (0BF0F083E353B3E9) but there is where I get stuck.. When I use the folowing command: "sudo gpg --keyserver pgpkeys.mit.edu --recv-key 0BF0F083E353B3E9" I get the following error: WARNING: unsafe ownership on configuration file `/home/trips/.gnupg/gpg.conf' If I do this as SU, it works, but then the seccond step does not work; "gpg --armor --export 0BF0F083E353B3E9 | apt-key add -" The error I get is: "gpg: no writable keyring found: eof gpg: error reading `-': general error gpg: import from `-' failed: general error" I am using KDE4.2.0 Intrepid... I am stuck, I cant seem to find the info on Google (I think I don't know where to look) and this post was the closest match for my problem, maybe I am doing just something really stupid and it is solved really easy, but for the moment I don't have any idea. Can someone give me a hint in the right direction...??? Thanks in advance, Johanneke |
