Whenever I rate some pictures, the ratings are lost when I close Gwenview. When I open Gwenview and look at the same picture again, the rating stars are all grey again.

I tested to delete $(kde4-config --localprefix)/share/apps/nepomuk (as was mentioned in this thread), but that didn't work for me.

Any suggestions to why my ratings aren't saved?

I'm using Gwenview 2.3.4 under KDE 4.3.5.

Please update to KDE 4.4.4 if possible.

So there is some important change in version 4.4.4 then?

Next version of my distro (openSuse 11.3) will have KDE 4.4.3 according to opensuse.org. Does that mean that my problem will be still there with openSuse 11.3?

There has got to be a way to get it to work with KDE 4.3.5 as well.

Can you please check to see if Nepomuk is enabled in System Settings > Advanced > Desktop Search? It is a required dependency of this functionality.

Can you please file a bug report at bugs.kde.org as Gwenview should disable functionality that depends on Nepomuk if Nepomuk is disabled.

Good news; it's just been announced today that 11.3 will come with 4.4.4.
