Hi :-)

I recently updated to kipi-plugins 2.4.1, which have finally a nice geo-tag editor (with osm support, etc.).

When using kphotoalbum, it shows up under Plugins → Images → Geo-location and works just fine. But when I open gwenview, I don't get this menu entry and can't use the geo-tag editor.

Don't they both use the very same backend? What's the reason for this and what can I do to get the same kipi functions in gwenview? I use Gentoo Linux, the kipi USE-Flag is set for gwenview.

Greetings, l3u

KPhotoAlbum and Gwenview do share KIPI plugins, but plugins can express feature requirements. If the application does not support the required features, the plugin won't appear in the list. I haven't tested, but I guess the geo-tag plugin requires the application to support storing geo-tag information. Gwenview does not know how to store geo-tag information yet, so the plugin gets disabled.

Ah, I see. But it’s a pity …
