I have to correct myself - after removing existing nepomuk data and allowing re-indexing autocompletion now works :-D

Yet to test Groups/Distributions lists

as noted on Kubuntu 12.04 with KDE 4.9 update from kubuntu-backports ppa repo

Can you provide more details on what you did? I tried enabling nepomuk but still habe no auto-complete when writing the e-mail addresses.

Quit KMail first of all.

Then I renamed the folder /home/user/.kde/share/apps/nepomuk

It can also help to edit /HOME/.kde/share/config/akonadi_nepomuk_feederrc

I edited these lines to these values:
InitialIndexingComplete=false
and
DisableIdleDetection=true

the first one seems to advice the system indexing is done (it was set to true) and the second one to use CPU regardless of state (it was set to false).

Saved the file and did from konsole akonadictl stop, akondictl start.

then have patience while virtuoso-t and friends chew up your CPU, depending on number of contacts and mails it can take quite some time.

when it calms down you should have autocompletion of addresses and searching of mail working (well the parts of searching that works at all that is).

No longer an issue, as auto-completion works. Not completely as I think it should work, but work it does.
