Is there away to setup notification for incoming email for kmail2, so that it show some basic information like sender and subjec of email ?

It is strange that kmail cannot do it, because pidgin and firefox, that are not kde applicaitons, do it.

Maybe topic relate to akonadi (?)

OS: Kubuntu 11.10
KDE: v4.8.1

Have you checked in KMail > Settings > Configure Notifications?

It only shows that mail is received, but not a sender/subject.

You will need to file a feature request for extra details to be added I am afraid.
