I am (actually was) running Mandriva 2011.2 with KDE 4.? Email stored via akonadi magic. After the last Mandriva upgrade, Mandriva won't boot, but my home directory is intact. I want to transfer to another machine running mageia, with KDE 4.6.5 and kmail 1.13.7. Is this possible? If so, how?
If necessary, I could load Mandriva 2011.2 on another machine and transfer the email to that machine. I suspect that Mandriva uses kmail2. If I do that, how can I export the mail for transfer to another machine. I'm not going to be able to keep Mandriva upgraded until the Mandriva upgrade problem is resolved, so I will need to transfer the email to another system. Thanks in advance Richard |

Assuming you used the default locations for Akonadi based email, then your email should be stored at ~/.local/share/.local-mail.directory and ~/.local/share/local-mail. It is important that the names of these folders be retained, as well as their position relative to each other.
