If you open Akonadi Console, are you able to delete them there?

if you mean in the browser tab in akoadi console, nothing in that tab can be deleted
wonder if I see this because of an issue/bump/bug when KDEpim2 was installed is there a defined method of cleaning out Kontact to it's defaults, I don't actually use it so there is no issue of data loss appears to me the following would need to be deleted: ~/.local/share/akonadi ~/.config/akonadi/ (missed this the first time) ~/.kde4/share/config/akonadi* ~/.kde4/share/config/kontact* ~/.kde4/share/config/korganizerrc ~/.kde4/share/apps/korganizerrc ~/.kde4/share/apps/kontact |

Make sure to include ~/.config/akonadi/ in your list of locations to clean out.

thanks, missed that one - even without it I seem to have gotten things up and running but will redo and include it just to do it right
and obviously akonadi should be stopped (sused akoaditray for this) question: why are akonadi files in 3 distinct places (~/.local/share, ~/.kde[4] and ~/.config)? seems overly spread out and confusing - if it's a KDE app then shouldn't all file be under ~.kde[4] |

Akonadi itself does not have KDE dependencies, only Qt. It was even proposed as a Freedesktop project (but the process there went nowhere).
