KMail encountered a fatal error and will terminate now.

Hi,
When I start kmail I get the following error:
Code: Select all
KMail encountered a fatal error and will terminate now.
The error was:
Timeout trying to get lock.

What causes this?
It happened right after I added a pop3 account, but before that it was also getting some strange errors.
