In kjots my list of books (to the left) is not too wide, since I don't use many sub-books, and I used to be able to move the line that divides left and right to the left and leave it there.
Now (since a year or so ago), whenever I reopen kjots, the position of the middle line goes back to its default position in the middle of the screen.
Is it possible to avoid this last behaviour?

The first thing I did was look for that file. I thought that it probably had a line like
SavedWidth=200
in konquerorbar
or
Splitter 1 Sizes=332,962
as in akregator
but there is no kjotsrc file :o

in Kjots the splitter attribute is called SplitterSizes

weird, as I have 1, might be that since you haven't changed any settings (there is but 1) the rc file doesn't get created. if you open settings and change the save period it should create one

this is mine, try saving it
Code: Select all
[General]
AutoCreateResourceOnStart=true

[KFileDialog Settings]
Height 1200=389
Recent Files[$e]=
Width 1920=818

[KJotsEntityOrder]
0=c10
10=c15,i75,c14
13=c14,i5
14=i76
15=i77
16=i8
17=i9

[MainWindow]
Height 1200=421
State=AAAA/wAAAAD9AAAAAAAABFQAAAFeAAAABAAAAAQAAAAIAAAACPwAAAABAAAAAgAAAAMAAAAWAG0AYQBpAG4AVABvAG8AbABCAGEAcgEAAAAA/////wAAAAAAAAAAAAAAFgB0AGUAeAB0AFQAbwBvAGwAQgBhAHIBAAAA7f////8AAAAAAAAAAAAAABoAZgBvAHIAbQBhAHQAVABvAG8AbABCAGEAcgEAAAMG/////wAAAAAAAAAA
ToolBarsMovable=Disabled
Width 1920=1108

[TreeState]

VerticalScroll=0

[kjots]
SplitterSizes=230,875

You are a g.d. genius! ;D ;D
The problem was that I had never opened kjots on its own: I always opened it through kontact, which apparently does not create or store kjots settings in kjotsrc.

I also believe that the previous problems I had with kjots
(reported here: http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=215&t=101832&p=220973#p220973)
are now solved: I don't seem to be getting the error messages anymore.

the problem is still there
