Changing the 'Special' Folder Designation

Is it possible to change the folders which have special designations in Kmail?

I am looking at the automatically created "Local Folders", which are maildirs residing in ~/.local/share/local-mail. I will be accessing my mail from a maildir also in ~/mail, so I don't have the need for this duplication of two separate maildir paths in my home directory. It would also be nice to remove the "Local Folders" group from Kmail and have my real Inbox and other folders have the appropriate icons.

Is it possible to designate my Inbox, Outbox and Trash/Wastebin as directories in ~/mail? It is possible to change Sent, Drafts and Templates in the profiles settings, but not the others from what I can tell.

Unfortunately I don't know how to designate the Trash or Outbox - I suspect the Outbox is controlled by the Mail Dispatcher Agent however, but I am not aware of how to configure it.

The Inbox is designated by the resources which deliver mail into certain folders.

The only resource that points to the /local-folders directory is the Local Folders resource itself. The Maildir resource that I use doesn't specify an inbox (or any other folder), so there is no "Inbox" designation on my ~/mail/inbox. Likewise, my resource for sending mail doesn't allow me to specify an outbox, which is what I would have expected. My complaint is only about cosmetics really, so it isn't really a hindrance to me using Kmail.

I will file a feature request at bugs.kde.org.
