kmail links in replies

Sat Jun 02, 2012 5:29 am
This just started happening where if I send a link to someone as a reply to a previous message the link won't be clickable however if I start a new message and send the link it will work.

This is likely due to the format being used to send the email. You new emails will be HTML emails - while your replies will be plain-text. Plain Text does not allow for the creation of links unfortunately.

In the composer settings "reply using HTML if present" is checked and the emails I'm replying to have links in them so shouldn't the reply use HTML also?

I've been using kmail for years and this issue just started.

It depends on if these links are actual HTML links - but if the content of the mail was HTML I would have expected KMail to use HTML when replying.

I finally found the solution. When in the reply window went to options and unchecked "Formatting (HTML)"

I would have thought that needed to be checked.
