#!/bin/hi *
Heard the news that Thunderbird is going to cease so switched back again to KMail (after gotten pretty frustrated when KMail2 was introduced into the KDE 4.x series, oh boy!). And ... woha ... now I remember why KMail is simply _the_ EMail Client and what Thunderbird didn't managed in all this years. KMails possibilities are gorgeous. However, minor glitches still exist. One of them: how do I turn off the syncing of all remote IMAP folders? Scenario: I do have a bunch of folders and subfolders. I already turned off any option on the "Retrieval" pane in the "Folder Properties" and left the "Automatically syncronize after:" to "Never". Next I dropped full text indexing as well. But still ... KMail/Akonadi is syncing all Subfolders therein when checking for new mails. How do I turn that off? There is one (1) folder I needed to be checked automatically: "Inbox". All other folders are pretty static and/or are modified by some mail filter rules at the client (that is: akonadi) site. Thx for any help. |

Rephrase question: "How can I stop akonadi/kmail from aggressivly synchronizing ALL folders?"
Having around ~300 folders with just one (1!) folder "Inbox" which really changes is just pretty dumb and a full waste of resources. Triggering sync manually for folders and subfolders or less aggressive would be nice. Thx. |

It looks like a bug. If you set retrieval options specific for folders, they should be honored.
