Hi all,
I set up Kontact to sync with google. Nearly everyting works like a charm. Except that I found out, new contacts are not transferred to google. If I add a new contact anywhere (iMac, Android phone, googlemail web page) I receive the new contact within minutes. But a newly added contact from KAddressBook (integrated in kontact) won't show up. Any ideas why? I am using 4.8.3 on gentoo |

How are you syncing with Google? Are you using "akonadi-google" or the older "akonadi-googledata"? I admit I haven't tried contact syncing, but since akonadi-google uses the same library to handle everything, it shouldn't be an issue, at least in theory.

...sorry for my late reply, I was busy the last days...
When starting akonadi console, it looks like i am using "akonadi_google_contacts" and "akonadi_google_calendar" for syncing. IS that ok? If not, I don't even know how to replace it... |

Can you look through packages installed in your distribution to see which ones are you using? (search for "akonadi")

I hope you mean the following list of libs (found in /usr/lib64/kde4)
if not - I will have to do a system wide search for akonadi* edit: the system wide search is running. grep for google results in

Hi,
your have an old version of Akonadi Google and there is a known bug which prevents this version from working. As of KDE 4.9 the resources are part of kdepim-runtime (you must have libkgapi installed, otherwise the resources won't be built), so you can drop the akonadi-google package then. If you can't update for any reason, you can still build the latest version from git://anongit.kde.org/scratch/dvratil/a ... -resources (it's a repo extracted from kdepim-runtime but it contains only the Akonadi resources for Google).
