PC Linux OS doesn't install kontac or kde mail by default. Downloaded from the PCLinuxOS repositories and installed. When I attempted to start kontac I got the usual opening screen, but there is no addressbook, and selecting mail brings up a screen saying that the Akonadi personal information management service is not operational.

In a terminal I get the following:
[rcdawson@localhost ~]$ akonadictl status
Akonadi Control: running
Akonadi Server: running
Akonadi Server Search Support: not available

The Akonadi Server Stelf Test returns the following:

Solved. The system needed to be restarted before kontac/mail would function. I don't know if a simple log out/log in would have done the trick, but reboot certainly did. All is working well.

Thanks,

Richard
