Hello,
I wanted to use a different tray icon for kmail, so I put a vector image (named kmail.svgz) into ~/.kde4/share/apps/desktoptheme/default/icons. Kmail shows the new tray icon, but now it doesn't show the unread message count anymore. Is there a way to use a custom icon also showing if there are unread messages? On a kinda related note: the same thing happens when using a custom icon for akregator (unread rss feeds arn't shown anymore). |

Unfortunately, custom icons do not support the overlays needed to supply these counts at this time.

I'm having the same problem. It was working now is not. I didn't knowingly change any icons. I played with system colors and changed the theme from oxygen and then back again.
Could someone please help me to put the right icon in the right place to make this work again? I checked ~/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme/default/icons and /user/share/kde4/apps/desktoptheme/default/icons and did not find any kmail icons. |

Counter does not work for custom icons, but as I already wrote here viewtopic.php?f=215&t=107233#p247670 at least changing of icon in case of new messages should work in theory. But it does not work in my case in reality. Maybe it will work in your case.
