I am still struggling with the order of my mail accounts. At the moment they are listed in alphabetical order. Yes - by drag and drop I can rearrange the folders within an account but I can't rearrange the account list itself. Neither in the prefered folder view nor in the list below ...

Anyone? Is there a file in which to do that?

thx, p.

You can do that in 4.9, I believe.I did it only once so I'm not sure where to look, however.

Work-around:
You can simply prepend account name with number. So "my mailbox" becomes "4.my mailbox" (or whatever number you like).

Settings -> Configure KMail -> Accounts -> Customize Account Order

progdan, you are my hero, - what a relief!

before I used the numbers method but the accounts change constantly, - they are temporary for testing customers setups.

Again thanks!

Well no.... sorry progdan, u have to give back your medal! I guess u didn't bother testing before posting, did you?

Anyway, thx for trying, thing is, this doesn't effect the order of appearance, i guess it's the order of transports or something similar ...
Or I am missung something completely!

Ok. Now: seriously

progdans hint is correct! YEAHHHH!!!!
but somehow incomplete a bit ... WHAT?????
after aplying a new order of accounts, you also have to check the tabs of the account list and set their behaviour to automatic and not "manually by drag and drop"! After you 've done that - the order you set before is applied in the account lists. ... PHEW!!!

that's it ... after a moment of reconsidaraion the olimpic comitee decided to reaward the price for beiing the problem solver and life saver to frogdan!!

CHEERS

thx, p.

Consider filing a bug against KMail. IMHO this should either happen automatically or should be documented in the dialog or in the KMail handbook and I didn't find it in any of these.

Btw I use this feature (I have accounts in order L.., D.., V..., R...), but I don't remember having to change the sorting behavior. Maybe "automatic" is the default option...anyway I still think it should be reported.
