directory structure

Mon Sep 24, 2012 11:18 am
I understand the basics of a manual import following a successful import of a relatively flat kmail folder structure to kmail2

I'd like to upgrade a folder structure with several subfolders - which clearly exist because I can see them in kmail

I'm using openSUSE and I've prepared a backup - however in both backup and original if, for example, I look in

.kde4/share/apps/kmail/mail/friends

I can't find the directories <name1>, <name2>, etc.,

May I ask if anyone can tell me where to find them?

Thank you

Can you check if there's a folder with the same name with the suffix "-directory" added to it? This quirk is apparently how the Maildir format (used by KDE PIM for local mail) works.

Sorry for delay in replying, now have used my brain as I should have done in first place

find -iname <name> -type d

returned

.kde4/share/apps/kmail/mail/.Friends.directory/<name>

then even simpler, discovered that the "show hidden files" options in Dolphin seems to be per directory not global...
(not sure I understand the reasoning, but at least now I know)
