(Just starting to use KAddressBook -- Total Newbie)

I can add a new contact to my addressbook, and a vcard file appears in what seems to be the proper directory as announced by
(rt-click on Personal) -> Properties
that is (in my case) $HOME/.local/share/contacts/Personal; however nothing appears in any of the display panes of the KAddresBook display.

What's going on? How can I fix this?

You do have the appropriate address book checked, right? (sorry have to ask)

Nope. (I blush.) Figured this out last night after posting.
