After a long standing love, I abandoned kjots a year ago because of its know bugs.
Last night I installed a new kubuntu system and updated to 4.9 just to see if kjots had come back to life (just to show you how much I loved it).
(The fact that it was not installed by default made me suspicious, since kontact would be the PERFECT suite with a note taking application installed by default, and the kontact developers are probably aware of that).
Anyway, kjots is not bugged, its broken. The issues are still there and it's impossible to work with it.
Can we then pronounce its time of death? :'(

I don't think it's unmaintained, but likely needs more help to be put into proper shape.

Hi, Bernardino.

I don't know Kjots very much (KDE in reality, I installed it few months ago, and Linux is not my principal OS), but I don't love it at all. I have lost some notes because of Kjots/Akonadi's fault, other notes appear in Kjots bit don't seem to exist on my hard disk, others exist but arent shown in Kjots. A shobby job, let's be honest. But even worse, it seems impossible to insert images nor sincronize the notes with any cloud service.

Said all this my question seems obvious: As you seem a more experienced note taking apps user than me, have you found a decent alternative to Kjots? I have read about Braindump, but AFAIK it doesn't get integrated in Kontact nor is able to sincronize; theres also Basket, but I think it isn't mantained since several years ago, so if you have any suggestion I'll be grateful.

Cheers.

Noimporta:
In my humble opinion, the lack of an akonadi integrated note taking application is the only thing that keeps kde from achieving greatness.
I guess/hope that kjots will be eventually replaced by sth. that works. In the meantime, I am using cherrytree, although it is absolutely basic (and quite ugly) and lacks several features that are present in, for example, basket.

It sure is sad there isn't seem to be good active kde note taking app. I use CherryTree too. Doesn't have huge amount of features but more than enough for me, interface is fine and it works. With for example GTK2 oxygen/qtcurve theme engine it looks ok. My saved file is in dropbox folder so I can access them via other computers.
