Hello,

Kmail is very slow to display the message content once I've clicked on it, it takes more than 10 seconds for messages less than 1ko. And with other mail agent, it is much more faster. How can I find where the issues are ?

Thank you for your help.

A few questions to help narrowing the problem:

Can you check .xsession-errors for suspicious errors?
Do you have mail indexing enabled?
Do you have the whole semantic desktop enabled? (in system settings)
What type of account are you using? POP, IMAP, local folders?

I have several lines like

But I'm sure it's suspicious. Should I look for something more specific?

Do you have mail indexing enabled?

Yes

Do you have the whole semantic desktop enabled? (in system settings)

Yes

What type of account are you using? POP, IMAP, local folders?

IMAP

Are you using online or offline IMAP ("disconnected mode")? Also, did you configure manually the Akonadi backend (as in database used) or are you using defaults?

I have two accounts, one with the disonnected mode selected and one without.

I'm using the defaults settings.

Try disabling the semantic desktop and see if the issue persists.

Yes, it works. But I would like to keep the advantages of the semantic desktop.

What version of KDE PIM are you using? Some versions have more problems in this interaction than others (and hopefully 4.10 is going to solve a lot of these issues).

I think I saw something of the sort, but unfortunately I can't remember how to solve that. I would suggest to update to 4.9.4 when possible to see if some of the problems have been fixed.
A proper fix will be in the next upcoming major version, 4.10, probably.
