This is an informative post, I hope it's useful for others, as I've read discording informations on the internet.

To send mails in KMail / Kontact using Zoho Mail SMTP use the following settings:

• server smtp.zoho.com
• Tick requires authentication and set username to username@zoho.com (not just the username)
• in Advanced tab select SSL encryption and set port to 465, and choose LOGIN authentication (PLAIN authentication will fail)

With these settings you should be able to use Zoho SMTP to send email from KMail.

Is it possible to sync Zoho contacts with Kontact?

If Zoho uses CardDAV or LDAP, or offers a remote vCard file, that might be possible.

They don't offer CardDAV. They do have Exchange Active Sync support for syncing contacts, calendar, and email with Android and iOS devices. Can Kontact be setup via Exchange Active Sync?

As far as I can tell, it's not directly supported.

I'm a little late to the party but this thing is causing me headaches.. should i just give up zoho all together? not sure if is an ongoing thing with their servers or kmail itself but i cant send any email via zoho... i could receive them but cant send.
