akonadi mysql configuration

Sat Jan 19, 2013 8:11 pm
Hello, I'm a developer who needs mysql on my system but with the standard (more or less) mysql configuration.

I would like to uninstall the existing mysql and reinstall it from the regular package and then configure akonadi to use that. Could anyone give me a list of steps or some pointers? I see that in akonadiserverrc I can change the socket, but how about the mysql conf file location which now points to my user/.local/share/akonadi/mysql.conf?

I've been searching for pages or forum posts to do this but don't understand where akonadi is configured altogether. I see in "ps aux" that the location of mysql.conf is passed as a parameter to the process, but from where?

Thanks

If you run "akonaditray" then right click on the icon and select "Configure" you can set to use a system-wide MySQL instance.
