how to import all local folders?

Tue Feb 12, 2013 2:34 pm
Hi all - is there a way to import a mail archive of *all* Local Folders so that it
replaces the Local Folders currently in kmail? If I do it the usual way I get
a new Local Folders folder within Local Folders ...

More important, after importing mail all messages are marked as *unread*.
I want to mark them all as *read*, but to do it folder by folder would
take a very long time (hundreds of folders, thousands of messages).

How can I tell kmail to mark all mail with Local Folders as read?

The effect of being unread is due to the fact that when importing the message flags are lost. However I'm not sure you can mark as read recursively.

There does not seem to be a way to recursively mark mail as read.
Weak.

So I thought I could write a script to do this manually.
But there's a bug about this in kde bugs: it seems that
kmail does not comply with maildir standards for message
flags

that's a fail, isn't it? SPOKE TOO SOON!

It looks like the flags are there; I'll see if I can set up the
scripte. - it seems all you have to do is move unread messages
from new folder to cur and append ":2,S" to the filename ...

You can probably figure out how to do by reading the Maildir specificaiton, I guess.
