Hello,

I am trying to send emails using SMTP from kmail but get the message
Failed to transport message. Unable to create SMTP job.
At the same time, in a terminal I get the following message
akonadi_maildispatcher_agent(1010): couldn't create slave: "Unable to create io-slave:
klauncher said: Unknown protocol 'smtp'.
"

Otherwise kmail seems to run fine, at least I see new messages, can move them and compose new ones. I am running Mac OS X 10.8.3 and KDE 4.10.1 via macports.
Are any package missing? Or is this a path problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?
Thanks

Same problem here on OS X 10.6.8 also using KDE 4.10.1 with akonadi 1.9.1. I also have a similar problem with pop3/pop3s (without a popup message just the terminal output, though):
Code: Select all
akonadi_pop3_resource_0(1009): couldn't create slave: "Unable to create io-slave:
klauncher said: Unknown protocol 'pop3s'.
"
akonadi_pop3_resource_0(1009)/akonadiresource (pop3) POP3Resource::cancelSync: ============== ERROR DURING POP3 SYNC ==========================
akonadi_pop3_resource_0(1009)/akonadiresource (pop3) POP3Resource::cancelSync: "Unable to login to the server pop.xxxxxxx.net.
"
akonadi_pop3_resource_0(1009)/akonadiresource (pop3) POP3Resource::saveSeenUIDList: UID list from server is not valid.
akonadi_pop3_resource_0(1009)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:
