In the lower right corner the status bar of kmail activity shows me that the mail filter agent is ready (green symbol" but the progress bar is stuck at 0%.
No filtering is taking place. Setting up a simple filter and trying to use it shows another progress bar for filtering which is running though to 100% but has no effect on my mails ...

plz help,
piedro

btw.: a few days ago I had about 20 non automatic filters in my filter list - they are all gone, why?

Did something change between now and "a few days ago", like a software upgrade or something? What version of KDE PIM are you using?

If I setup a new filter, just a simple one "copy mail to folder" when there is a certain sender address - and I apply that filter on just a few files manually it shows the above behaviour - stuck at 0% ...

I've set up a clean kde 4.10.2 on Archlinux ... and here again, randomy the mail filter is stuck ... in this case kmail won't do anything it looks alive but even the refreshing of folders doesn' take place ... sure I can always open Akonadi console and restart the mail filter agent - then it is working again ... what a mess .... p.

How many filters do you have? What do they do (move mail, etc)?

At the moment I just have testfilters, - very simple ones, like:
if mail header contains "@gmail.com" copy to local folder ...
I also have the bogofilter spam filters running, but even when I disable them, this still happens ...

I notice that this Always happens when I change something like add or modify a filter in the filter configuration window ...
After every change I need to restart kmail and the mail filter agent ...

plz note: there might be more conditions but this seems to be a consistent one ...

thx, p.

In other words, if you don't change the filter configuration, the filters work? In that case, you should file a bug at bugs.kde.org, providing a simple test case, so that developers are aware of this issue.

Hello,

I experienced the same problem the same problem a number of times.

Finally it turned out that The application needed my mail password, but the pop-up screen requesting this info was behind all other screens and I had not noticed that screen in the task manager bar.

Regards, Frans
