I don't use Akonadi (nor Nepomuk) but there are still a dozen processes (under Akonadi-control) that belong to it. I unfortunately can't uninstall it, but is there a way to totally disable it?

Akonadi is started on demand, as such there may be a program somewhere that's requesting its use. Check if you have "show events" checked in the Plasma clock configuration.

I indeed had the pipe dream that having holidays in the calendar would not require 6 additional background processes
![]() Thanks for the info. |

But holidays are still shown when you turn off "Show events", aren't they?
At least here on my system... |

Right, not holidays... I may have misinterpreted the meaning of "events". |
