Kmail sasl issue

Sun Apr 21, 2013 10:57 pm
When trying to send an email, I get
Code: Select all
Failed to transport message. An error occurred during authentication: SASL(-4): no mechanism available: No worthy mechs found
and the other person just receives a blank email or no email.

This is using Arch Linux with KDE 4.10.2. On my desktop I have libsasl installed and it works fine. But on on this setup thats in a virtual machine for my work laptop, with libsasl, gsasl, cyrus-sasl-sql, cyrus-sasl-ldap, cyrus-sasl-gssapi, and cyrus-sasl installed it still complains. Is there a way to get a more detailed log to figure out whats actually going on?

If you're ready for *heavy* slowdown, you can start "akonadiconsole" and enable the debugger in the "Debugger" tab. Then try sending an email. The "mail transport agent" tab which will pop up will show what it's going to do for sending. Bear in mind that this, as I said, will slow down normal operation considerably because debugging will be enabled for all resources.
