Hello,
I've just switched my e-mail accounts from POP3 to IMAP. Previously, with POP3, a mail check will only happen when I press the "check mail" button... this is the behaviour that I like. But now, with IMAP, Kmail is automatically checking and downloading new e-mails (I think every 30 minutes). How can I disable this? I've already tried to disable "interval mail checking" and also tried to work-around this issue by setting the "check mail interval" to 10000 minutes, but this won't disable the checking and downloading of new e-mails every 30 minutes. |

Check for every IMAP folder if checking is disabled (right click-> Properties). This setting should be honored, if not it's a bug.

Look under the "Retrieval" tab.

This is what I have under the "Retrieval" tab: ![]() It looks like the settings are correct to NOT check mail automatically, but still Kmail will check for new e-mails every 30 minutes. I found out that it is possible to disable automatic mail check by setting Kmail to offline when I'm finished using it, and then setting it to online again when I want to do a manual mail check. Just like I want, except that I have to press 2 extra buttons (online and offline buttons)... yes, yes, I know I'm spoiled ![]() What I am really looking for is a way to keep Kmail online so I can read old e-mails but without the automatic checking for new e-mails. |

Are you using connected or disconnected IMAP? In either case, please file a bug at bugs.kde.org.
