That patch needs rebasing, probably, since it was against 4.9.
I cannot, however, reproduce the issue posted in this topic with current master (4.11) as I mistakenly set some folders in an identity to be server side and emails indeed ended up being there. In fact, I just tested the functionality and it works properly. So it is possible that it will work in 4.11.

That patch just addresses one particular flag. But the problem lies deeper, IMHO: Some IMAP servers don't support custom flags. And they advertise that via the IMAP protocol (in fact servers advertise which flags they support AFAIK). But the IMAP resource ignores that and insists on setting the (akonadi) message's flags regardless what the server supports. So if there is another not supported flag set (e.g. $ATTACHMENT), there would be the same problem again, because the server rejects this. You can copy those messages not uploaded to the server to a local folders resource f.i., remove the unsupported flags using akonadiconsole and copy them to the server again, and they appear there. I only have this problem with one particular server. The other ones work fine, because they do support custom flags. I wanted to dig further into this but haven't found the time so far. I will try to and report more in the bug reports in the next weeks... |

elnar, thank you very much for looking into this for me. I appreciate it.
4.11 is due for release in three months; that's too long to wait for a release that may or, more likely, may not fix my issue. I think I'll just switch to Gnome and Evolution. Thanks again. |

Have just noticed I see the same behaviour with KDEPIM 4.10.3 and an IMAP account to MS Office365 online (that is Exchange in other words).

Kindly forget that statement - it seems to work just fine. The Outlook Web App had "conversations" on and sorted them in the most weird manner. Once I changed that all sent mails are showing as expected. I use local subscription on this account and have tagged "sent items" as one of the folders to update/subscribe to. All seems to work as I expect it to |
