Does KMail support IMAP server side search?

Hi,
the Main Features list on http://userbase.kde.org/KMail lists "Searching in IMAP folders fully supported ". So I was wondering if this means that KMail send search queries to the IMAP server which than performs the search or if it is a local search on the cache? |

It is a local search, AFAIK. IMAP server side search is not used.
